Deezer has reached a striking milestone in the AI music debate: fully AI-generated tracks accounted for more than half of new music uploads on peak days in June 2026.
The platform says it was receiving nearly 90,000 fully AI-generated tracks per day during the period. The scale of the uploads is enormous, but Deezer says the listening impact remains much smaller because detected AI tracks are excluded from algorithmic and editorial recommendations.
More than half of new deliveries
Deezer has been tracking AI-generated music since January 2025. The company says the volume has grown steadily, reaching a point where fully synthetic tracks represented more than 50% of all new daily music deliveries during peak days in June 2026.
The figure is a reminder that the number of AI-generated uploads and the amount of AI-generated music people actually listen to are two very different measurements.
AI is flooding the upload pipeline, not the listening charts
According to Deezer, fully AI-generated music currently represents only around 1% to 3% of total streams on the platform. The company says automatic exclusion from recommendations and editorial playlists sharply limits organic discovery.
That gap matters for artists and songwriters because it shows how quickly AI can increase the volume of available content without necessarily taking a matching share of listener attention.
Fraud is a major part of the problem
Deezer says up to 85% of streams on fully AI-generated tracks were identified as fraudulent in 2025. The platform has therefore focused its AI detection system not only on transparency, but also on protecting the royalty pool from manipulated listening.
Deezer also says it will remove AI-generated tracks used for streaming fraud and tracks that have not been streamed for at least six months.
What the Deezer milestone means for the industry
The milestone changes the conversation around AI music. The central issue is no longer whether synthetic tracks are being uploaded. They clearly are, and at very high volumes.
The next challenge is deciding how the industry should handle those recordings across discovery, royalties, charts, reporting and artist identity. Deezer’s approach puts detection and labelling at the centre of that process.
