About Sebastian McQueen

Sebastian McQueen developed his musical instincts as a DJ before concentrating on production. That background still shapes the way he builds electronic tracks: introductions establish the atmosphere, transitions control the intensity and melodic ideas arrive with a clear sense of timing.

Music production became a major part of his daily life during the Covid period, when long studio sessions gave him the time to compose, mix and experiment across several forms of electronic music. The Sebastian McQueen project gradually evolved from melodic EDM towards a warmer sound built around groove, deeper basslines, organic percussion and more spacious arrangements.

Rather than abandoning his earlier influences, he has used them as a foundation. EDM brought impact and melodic immediacy. House introduced a more continuous relationship with rhythm. Afro House opened the door to a more organic form of movement, where percussion and atmosphere can carry as much weight as the main hook.

From EDM to House and Afro House

The first chapter of the Sebastian McQueen catalogue was strongly connected to melodic EDM and dance music. Tracks such as Holiday, Come With Us, Sweet Feeling, Energy, The Day, Emotion and Uprising focused on bright synthesizers, clear builds and direct club energy.

Over time, the arrangements became less dependent on a single drop. Tracks including Sempre, Heaven, For You, Even If We Fight, Back to Chicago and New Horizon placed more emphasis on groove, bass and continuity. The energy remained, but the music became more immersive.

Badali Badala, released in November 2025, marked a clear Afro House turning point. Organic percussion and a hypnotic low-end pulse became central to the production, while the melodic accessibility of his earlier work remained intact.

A Sound Built on Groove and Emotion

Sebastian McQueen’s current productions are built around strong low-end foundations, detailed percussion, melodic accessibility and controlled dynamics. The objective is not complexity for its own sake. Rhythm creates movement, melody leaves an emotional trace and each transition must take the listener somewhere.

This approach allows the catalogue to move between EDM, House, Deep House and Afro House without losing its identity. The genres change, but the underlying intention remains consistent: electronic music with enough energy for the dancefloor and enough atmosphere to work beyond it.

Radio and International Audience

Sebastian McQueen’s work has also reached listeners outside France through radio programming in Miami. Tracks including Come With Us, Sweet Feeling, Badali Badala and Delighted were featured during programming on 99.7 DA HEAT Miami, extending the project beyond the studio and reconnecting it with the logic of DJ programming.

That experience reinforced an important part of his production approach: a track must work as an individual release, but it should also make sense inside a sequence, a playlist or a DJ set.
