Before there were releases, playlists, or monthly listeners, there was a bedroom in France—and a young creative who couldn’t stop writing. ALIE started with poetry and stories, the kind of pages that feel like secret drafts of future songs. Even then, the direction was clear: she wanted to build worlds.
That instinct first took shape on stage. ALIE launched a garage-rock trio, released an EP, and played multiple shows—including two performances at Supersonic in Paris—until the project reached its natural endpoint. Instead of forcing a next chapter, she changed the setting completely.
From Paris Stages to New York Film Frames
ALIE moved to New York to study cinema, where she wrote and directed two short films. That experience didn’t pull her away from music—it sharpened the way she thinks about it. Film teaches pacing, tension, cut-to-black moments, and emotional payoff… and those skills translate perfectly into songwriting.
Back in France, she returned to writing songs with a new mission: build a solo career that blends her love for cinema with music—tracks that feel like scenes, with sound design, mood shifts, and lyrics that land like close-ups.

Bright Sounds, Raw Truth
What makes ALIE stand out is the contrast. Her music often arrives through catchy, bubbly textures—sunlit guitars, pop-rock lift, surf-rock sparkle—yet the writing goes deeper. She uses that sweetness to frame something heavier: past trauma and personal experience, delivered with lyrics that are emotional, honest, and unfiltered.
You can hear the influence of artists like Clairo, Phoebe Bridgers, and Big Thief, not as imitation but as permission: to be soft and sharp, playful and devastating, sometimes in the same verse. ALIE’s lane is wide—pop rock, surf rock, folk—and she moves between them like a director switching lenses.

Momentum That’s Already Global
With an EP and two singles out, ALIE has steadily grown an international audience, reaching around 40k monthly listeners on Spotify. Her cover of “Take on Me” (released in February) also helped widen her reach, pulling in hundreds of thousands of streams and bringing new listeners into her catalog.
If you like indie that feels cinematic—songs that glow on the surface but carry real weight underneath—ALIE is one to keep close.
