Swedish female-fronted rock band MARYLANE continue their evolution with “Mirror Maze”, a new single released on June 25, 2026. The track is the third single from their upcoming studio album “Seventh Sense”, scheduled for release on July 17, 2026.
A Swedish Rock Band Moving Into Heavier Territory
MARYLANE first made their mark with the debut album “Winners Write History” in 2024. Since then, the band has been shaping a more intense and mysterious identity, moving from pop rock foundations toward a darker, heavier and more cinematic rock sound.
With “Mirror Maze”, MARYLANE fully lean into that transformation. The single brings together dark groovy rock, heavy rock, vintage influences and a strong theatrical atmosphere. The result feels both classic and modern, with an analog warmth that gives the track character while keeping the production sharp and current.
The band’s universe should speak to listeners who enjoy the dark elegance of Ghost, the vintage energy of Greta Van Fleet, the shadowy weight of Black Sabbath, the progressive depth of Opeth, and the emotional tension of Sleep Token. There are also echoes of The Doors, Graveyard, Witchcraft, Paramore and Type O Negative, all filtered through MARYLANE’s own witchy, theatrical rock identity.
“Mirror Maze”, A Song About Being There For Others
According to the band, “Mirror Maze” is “a song highlighting the importance of being present for those who need it the most.” That message gives the single an emotional center beneath its darker aesthetic.
The title itself fits perfectly with MARYLANE’s world. A mirror maze suggests confusion, reflection, illusion and confrontation with the self. In the band’s hands, this becomes more than a visual idea. It becomes a rock song built around tension, empathy and human presence, wrapped in heavy grooves and occult atmosphere.
It is the kind of track that carries both mood and muscle. The riffs have weight, the melodies have drama, and the overall sound feels designed for rock playlists that want something darker than standard radio rock, but still immediate enough to grab the listener without asking them to bring a candle and a full occult manual.
From “Doreen” To “Mirror Maze”

“Mirror Maze” follows the first two singles from the upcoming album campaign. The first single, “Doreen”, arrived with a music video directed by renowned producer and filmmaker Patric Ullaeus, known for his work with artists such as Delain, Amaranthe, Dimmu Borgir, Arch Enemy, In Flames and Lacuna Coil.
The video for “Doreen” has already reached more than 770,000 views in only a few weeks, confirming the growing interest around MARYLANE’s new era. The second single, “Midnight Wheels”, continued the momentum before “Mirror Maze” opened the next door into the world of “Seventh Sense”.

The World Of MARYLANE
MARYLANE is not presented as just a band name, but as a full universe. The story begins in a strange amusement park operated by Marymaker the Clown, a figure both terrifying and captivating. Once filled with visitors, music and summer light, the park slowly fades into abandonment. From that decay comes a search for meaning, identity and sound.
This fictional world mirrors the band’s musical direction. MARYLANE explore contrast: light and darkness, sadness and hope, theatricality and intimacy. Their songs draw inspiration from vintage rock sounds while bringing them into a modern setting through groovy rhythms, epic choruses, introspective lyrics and a strong female vocal presence.
Formed in 2023, the Swedish rock band uses this blend of storytelling and heavy rock atmosphere to explore existential questions and emotional contradictions. It is a sound rooted in classic rock tradition, but shaped for a new generation of listeners drawn to darker, moodier and more cinematic music.
The Band And Production
MARYLANE features Mary Marylane on vocals, keys, piano and bass, Magnus Mild on guitars, and Jonas Toxen-Worm on drums. All songs are written and composed by the band.
The drums and vocals were recorded at Sonic Train Studios with Andy La Rocque, while the rest of the recordings were completed in what the band describes as “secret corners of the tivoli.” All songs on the project were mixed by Andy La Rocque at Sonic Train Studios and mastered by Thomas “Plec” Johansson at The Panic Room.
This production team helps give MARYLANE’s new material a strong sonic identity: warm, heavy, organic and polished without losing its vintage soul.
“Seventh Sense” Arrives In July

The upcoming album “Seventh Sense” is set for release on July 17, 2026, with the focus track “Seven”. The album campaign has been supported by international promotion across the Nordics, Europe and North America, with PR activity through GingerVine PR, All-Noir and O’Donnell Media.
The release strategy also includes music videos, playlist campaigns, social media promotion, influencer marketing and advertising across YouTube, Facebook and Instagram. MARYLANE are clearly treating “Seventh Sense” as a major step forward, not just another album cycle.

A Strong New Chapter For MARYLANE
With “Mirror Maze”, MARYLANE continue to define their darker rock direction with confidence. The single has the groove of classic heavy rock, the atmosphere of occult storytelling and the emotional core of a band looking beyond surface-level theatrics.
As the release of “Seventh Sense” approaches, MARYLANE appear ready to move further into their own world: strange, heavy, melodic and shadowed by carnival lights that probably stopped being safe several songs ago.
