Identity by SocaLabs: Free Formula Oscillator Synth VST
A free polyphonic synth where mathematical expressions become waveforms, backed by deep modulation and eleven effects.
Identity by SocaLabs is a free polyphonic synthesizer built around two formula oscillators. Instead of being limited to a fixed set of classic waveforms, each main oscillator can generate shapes from mathematical expressions. That unusual oscillator design is paired with familiar synthesis tools for pads, basses, leads and experimental textures.

Two Formula Oscillators
The defining feature is a pair of programmable formula oscillators. Users can write waveform expressions and combine built-in waveform and filter functions, creating a more open-ended oscillator stage than a conventional subtractive synth.
Filters, Noise and Sub Oscillator
Identity includes a sub oscillator, white and pink noise, plus two multi-mode filters with low-pass, high-pass, band-pass and notch modes at 12 or 24 dB per octave.
Deep Modulation
Four MSEG-based LFOs, three modulation envelopes and a flexible modulation matrix provide extensive movement. Four macros, per-voice vibrato and analog drift add performance control and controlled instability.
Eleven Reorderable Effects
The effects section contains eleven reorderable processors including gate, chorus, distortion, delay, reverb, EQ and filtering, letting complex patches be completed inside the synth.
Cross-Platform Free Synth
Identity supports MPE and is available for Windows, macOS and Linux. Official builds include VST3 and CLAP, AU on macOS and LV2 on Linux. SocaLabs distributes its plugin collection free of charge.

Final Thoughts
This free resource has a clear creative purpose and can add useful new options to a production workflow. Download it from the official source, test it in a real session and adapt the sounds or processing to your own music rather than treating any preset or sample as a finished result.
