Tom Wolfe has updated his Synth Vault with 20 new free presets covering four major software synthesizers.

The August collection includes five presets each for Arturia Pigments, Spectrasonics Omnisphere 3, u-he Hive and GForce Sequential Prophet 5.

Access is completely free after creating a Synth Vault account.

Five Free Arturia Pigments Presets

The Pigments collection explores atmospheric and experimental sound design.

Tom Wolfe describes the current sounds as including a lo-fi chordal texture, nasal digital pad, physically modelled mallet arpeggio, metallic percussion synth and breathy atmospheric pad.

These presets are particularly suitable for Ambient, Cinematic music, Electronica and experimental production.

Five Free Omnisphere 3 Presets

Omnisphere 3 users receive another five sounds focused on cinematic and evolving textures.

The collection includes granular piano bursts, delicate sine arpeggios, string pads and additional atmospheric material.

Five Free u-he Hive Presets

This month’s u-he instrument is Hive.

The five patches include a dirty sweeping arpeggio, digital pads with additive character, bass sequences and additional electronic textures.

Hive’s flexible wavetable and modulation system makes these presets useful as both finished sounds and starting points for further sound design.

GForce Sequential Prophet 5 Presets

The wildcard synthesizer for August is GForce Sequential Prophet 5.

The five free sounds explore classic analog-inspired territory with plucked arpeggios, haunting keys, vintage pads and expressive synth textures.

20 New Presets Every Month

Synth Vault is not a one-off free download.

Tom Wolfe adds 20 new presets every month: five for Pigments, five for Omnisphere, five for a rotating u-he synthesizer and five for a wildcard instrument.

Members can also access the complete archive, which currently contains more than 1,000 free presets.

Is Synth Vault Worth Joining?

Yes, particularly if you already use several of the supported synthesizers.

The monthly format provides a steady source of new sounds without filling the library with hundreds of nearly identical presets at once.
