Tremolo Viola: A Free Tremolo VST With 19 Waveforms and Advanced Waveshaping
More than a basic tremolo
Tremolo Viola starts with familiar volume modulation but pushes the idea much further. Its nineteen waveform options include sine, triangle, square and saw shapes alongside vintage-inspired amp curves and more experimental movement patterns such as Bouncing Ball, Smooth Random, Guitar Pick and Slow Gear.
Advanced movement controls
The Shape control can morph the selected waveform into another character, creating rhythmic patterns that go beyond a standard LFO. The rate can run freely in Hz or lock to the host tempo with dotted and triplet subdivisions. A real-time display makes it easy to understand the resulting modulation before fine-tuning it by ear.
- 19 modulation waveforms.
- Continuous waveshaping.
- BPM sync or free-running rate.
- Wave offset for phase positioning.
- Real-time waveform visualization.
- VST3, AU and AAX support.
Where it works best
Use Tremolo Viola on Rhodes and electric piano for classic pulse, on guitars for vintage amp-style movement, on synth pads for slow stereo animation, or on vocals and effects for rhythmic gating. The unusual waveform library also makes it useful for sound design when a conventional tremolo feels too predictable.
Compatibility
The plugin supports macOS 13 or later and Windows 10 or later in 64-bit hosts. It is available as VST3, Audio Unit and AAX, with native Apple Silicon support.
