While I haven’t done a full A/B in every context, here are some gut-impressions comparing Silver Fox MK2 with typical alternatives:
- Compared to a vintage opto compressor: Silver Fox MK2 is more aggressive, more responsive, less “smooth & creamy.” If you want warmth and saturation, opto/tube emulation will win; but if you want clarity and punch, VCA (like MK2) is often better.
