From the alternative scene of Tashkent, two key figures of Uzbekistan’s indie music movement unite for an intimate and immersive reinterpretation of Goodbye. The track, originally written by Władek Sheen and now remixed by 19:34 (aka Alexey Polyakov), blends heartbreak with synthwave aesthetics for a result that is both nostalgic and emotionally resonant.

A Song Born from Real Experience

Like much of Sheen’s work, Goodbye draws its strength from a real-life breakup. The choruses—written while the relationship was still intact—reflect lingering doubts, while the verses, crafted afterward, add emotional closure. Lines like “You were never truly mine / No matter how I tried to replace that guy” convey the painful truth of moving on when feelings still linger.

With this remix, 19:34 transforms the original into a dreamy, retro-tinged electronic atmosphere that elevates every word with a sentimental glow.

Under the moniker 19:34, Alexey Polyakov explores new sonic territories inspired by Vangelis and ’80s synthwave. Known for his work in theater and cinema, he brings a cinematic and atmospheric dimension to the remix that deepens its emotional core.

His sensitive and precise approach results in a remix that radiates emotional depth, balancing melancholy, clarity, and surrender.

A Longstanding Collaboration

Władek and Alexey are no strangers to collaboration. Friends and creative allies for over 13 years, they first worked together in 2013 when Sheen was part of All Tomorrow’s Parties (which later became Cruel Tie). In 2023, Sheen joined Esli Mozhno, Polyakov’s post-punk project, as a bassist.

This remix is yet another milestone in a long-standing musical friendship fueled by artistic respect and shared passion.

International Reach

Released in November 2024, the original version of Goodbye has already gained international traction, receiving airplay on California’s DKFM Shoegaze Radio, as well as stations in France and Australia. This remix brings new life to the poignant track with a deeper, more immersive sonic palette.
