Domenico Mungo, also known as Zombie Sam, is a London-based conductor and an eccentric music producer.

Zombie Sam emerged from the shadows in 2011 as a solo artist with his distinctive style. By 2012, his initially solo project had transformed into a talented trio. While the band developed the music as a whole, Sam took charge of compositions, orchestrations, all instruments, and additional vocals.

In addition to his experiences as a soundtrack and music producer, which he has honed over the years, Sam is also a cum laude graduate of the Giuseppe Verdi Music Academy. He had the great privilege of learning from the legendary conductor, Claudio Abbado.

Along the way, Sam’s life was transformed by inspiration from an eclectic range of composers, including Danny Elfman, John Williams, John Debney, Bill Conti, James Horner, Randy Edelman, and many others. Each played a significant role in encouraging Sam to develop his own way of thinking and producing, teaching him that a score or production doesn’t always have to start with a simple guitar riff.
Sam’s choice of instruments boldly defines the sound of « The Halloween Man. » He uses a traditional orchestral palette of strings, brass, and woodwinds as the foundation, then layers his sounds with variations of bells and chimes, frequent use of the harp, and the haunting sounds of female choirs.
These instrument choices are not arbitrary but serve the score. Bells and chimes, for example, add a touch of magic or perhaps an eerie phenomenon. Female choirs can create an unpredictable, exciting, and mysterious atmosphere.
